PlushCare weight loss review (2026): pricing, insurance, pros and cons

Direct answer · October 15, 2026

As of October 15, 2026, PlushCare charges a $19.99 monthly membership (first month free) and $129 for an initial visit without insurance, or $30 or less for most in-network patients, and its page says that medication and lab costs are not included.

PlushCare is an insurance-first clinic: its value is the visit and coverage paperwork, not the drug price.

Verdict

PlushCare sells clinical care, not medication. Its weight-loss page lists a $19.99 monthly membership with the first month free, an initial visit of $129 without insurance, and says “Most patients with in-network insurance pay $30 or less”. It is explicit that “any medication or lab work costs are not included.”

That makes PlushCare a sensible route if your insurance may cover a GLP-1: the visit is cheap and the clinician can handle the prescription. Without coverage, it is less useful. PlushCare’s own FAQ says branded GLP-1s “usually cost about $1000 per month out of pocket”, cut by 7–20% with its discount card. If you pay cash, the manufacturers sell for less: the Wegovy pill from $149 at NovoCare and Zepbound from $299 at LillyDirect, both with a prescription such as one PlushCare can write.

A first year of care without insurance costs about $349 before any medication: the $129 visit plus eleven months at $19.99. This site has not yet scored PlushCare on methodology v4.1 (v4.1 score pending).

Before you pay

  1. Find the ongoing price. Words like “first month”, “from”, “as low as” or “sale” mean the number beside them is not what month two costs.
  2. Add any membership and ask, in writing, the price at your maintenance dose.
  3. Ask what happens if you stop early on any plan longer than one month.
  4. Ask which pharmacy fills the prescription and whether it is a 503A or 503B facility, then check its licence with the state board of pharmacy.
